How to Get A Free Credit Report
The federal government through The Fair Credit Report Act (FCRA) requires each of the 3 credit reporting agencies to give you a free copy of your credit report.
You can get your free credit reports in one of 3 ways.
1. Call 1-877-322-8228
2. Fill out the Annual Credit Report Request Form and mail it in. (You can get this form by going to www.ftc.gov/credit and printing it) Mail it to:
Annual Credit Report Request Service, P.O. Box 105281, Atlanta, GA 30348-5281
3. Or visit www.annualcreditreport.com.
WWW.ANNNUALCREDITREPORT.COM is the ONLY website authorized by the federal government to provide you with the free credit report you are entitled to. Beware of imposters!
You can also purchase your credit report from any one of the 3 credit reporting agencies or from all three. You may want to purchase the report from each agency as each one does contain different information from the others. The federal government recommends staggering your requests from each agency over a 12 month period.
To purchase your individual credit reports from the reporting agencies contact:
Experian | 1-800-685-1111 | www.equifax.com
TransUnion | 1-800-916-6800 | www.transunion.com
