How To Pan Fry Steak
page.
Prepare the ingredients
I find it extremely helpful to prepare my ingredients to they are available to me when I need them.
Pour the beef stock into a bowl and set aside.
Mix the dijon mustard, worcestershire sauce, tobasco sauce, tomato paste, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, dry mustard, salt, and pepper in a bowl. I will refer to this as the dijon mustard combination.
Pour the heavy whipping cream into a bowl and set aside.
Creating the Sauce
Place the pan you used to cook your steaks on the stove over high heat. Pour in the beef stock and use a spatula to scrape up the the bits that are stuck to the bottom of the pan from cooking the steaks. It is very important to cook until the liquid has reduced by half, probably about five minutes.
Reduce to medium heat and whisk in the dijon mustard combinatation you prepared. Use your whisk to stir often for two to three minutes.
Remove pan from heat and whisk in the heavy whipping cream.
I always serve my sauces in ramekins so each person has the option to eat the sauce or not.
